Jowar Rava Vegetable Cheela

Start your morning with the wholesome goodness of Organic Wisdom Jowar Rava. Made from nutrient-rich sorghum, Jowar Rava is naturally rich in dietary fibre and a good source of plant protein. It is gluten-free, easy to digest, and provides sustained energy, making it an excellent choice for a healthy and satisfying breakfast. 

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

INGREDIENTS 

  • One cup Organic Wisdom Jowar Rava
  • ½ cup curd
  • ½ cup water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup grated carrot
  • 2 tbsp capsicum, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp grated ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil or ghee for cooking

PREPARATION

Prepare the Batter

In a bowl, combine Organic Wisdom Jowar Rava, curd, and water. Mix well to form a smooth batter. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

Add the Vegetables

Add onion, carrot, capsicum, coriander, green chilli, ginger, cumin seeds, and salt. Mix well. Adjust the consistency by adding a little water if required. The batter should be thick but pourable.

Cook the Cheela

Heat a non-stick tawa and lightly grease it with oil. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it gently into a medium-thick pancake.

Cook on medium heat for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp.

Serve and Enjoy

Serve hot with coconut chutney, mint chutney, tomato chutney, or curd.

Tips

  • Allow the batter to rest so the Jowar Rava absorbs the moisture.

  • Cook on medium heat for a crispy outside and soft inside.

  • Add vegetables of your choice to make it more colourful and nutritious.

  • Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
